• PURPOSE:
• Fire extinguishers are intended for extinguishing fires and/or incipient fires of solid materials, flammable liquids, gaseous substances, and electrical installations under voltage up to 1000V according to the technical characteristics of the products.
• AREA OF APPLICATION:
• For equipping buildings (residential, public, commercial, industrial, agricultural, and those with mass gatherings of people, etc.), facilities, installations, vehicles, agricultural machinery, and others.
• GENERAL STRUCTURE AND OPERATING PRINCIPLE:
• All fire extinguishers consist of an extinguishing agent, a metal cylinder for its storage, a propellant gas, a valve with a safety valve, a pressure gauge (for type H fire extinguishers), a hose or nozzle for directing the stream, a label according to BDS EN3 standard, a seal and accessories. Fire extinguishers work on the principle of expelling the extinguishing agent towards the fire source under the action of the propellant gas.
• USAGE:
• To use powder, water, foam, and CO2 fire extinguishers, break the seal and pull out the safety pin. Direct the hose or nozzle towards the fire source and press or turn (depending on the design) the valve handle. For fire extinguishers with a nozzle, press the nozzle handle.
• PACKAGING AND STORAGE:
• Fire extinguishers are packed in paper or polyethylene packaging and stored in them in dry, well-ventilated areas, protected from direct sunlight, at a temperature of +5°C to +30°C.
• INSPECTION, REPAIR AND REFILLING OF FIRE EXTINGUISHERS:
• All fire extinguishers are inspected after each use or periodically – once a year.
